Geographical Analysis of Residential Mobility in Onaizah City during the period (2000-2020)
Abstract
This study sheds light on the geographical analysis of residential mobility in Onaizah City during the period (2000-2020 AD), identifying the demographic, social and economic characteristics of the mobility within the Onaizah City, Determining the patterns and trends, uncovering the main causes of residential mobility, and identifying the future intentions of those who move inside and to other neighborhoods in Onaizah. A survey sample consisting of (433) questionnaires were conducted and distributed to (15 neighborhoods), and the questionnaire was designed to answer the characteristics of the study sample members, the trends, the reasons, and the future intentions. The study revealed that there is a relationship between age, marital status, number of family members, type of dwelling, degree of crowding, and residential mobility, the highest percentage of population movement was inside and to the neighborhoods. The results of the study revealed that one of the main causes of residential mobility is the purchase and construction of a new home. And that there are statistically significant differences using factor analysis, and that the majority of the sample do not currently have any intention of moving from the current neighborhood to another neighborhood.
