Asceticism ( Zuhd) in the Poetry of Ibn Al-Sayyid Al-Batalyusi (Died in 521 A.H.) Its Themes and Stylistic Features
Abstract
This study aims to identifying the themes of asceticism and its stylistic features mentioned in Ibn Al-Sayyid al-Batalyusi Poetry. It contains an introduction addressed the aim, methodology, and limitations of the study in addition to the previous studies. The preface contains some of the reasons led to emergence of the asceticism movement in Andalusia, as well as the concept of Asceticism; linguistically and idiomatically. Furthermore, two chapters : the first Chapter entitled "Asceticism themes in the Poetry of Ibn Al-Sayyid al-Batalyusi", it contains : the themes of life, death, , and reminder of the Day of Resurrection , And urging to obey God - the Almighty, the Majestic, and And God's monotheism - blessed and exalted. The second chapter is entitled " The Stylistic Features of the Ascetic Poetry in Ibn Al-Sayyid al-Batalyusi Poetry. It contains the language and style in terms of using philosophical terms, the impact of the religious culture, the antithesis style, pun style and Leonine rhyme. The study ended with a conclusion that highlighted the most important findings, followed by a list of resources and references which the study used
